The certification field assignment
Step 1
Inspect
Complete and document the HVAC inspection in Mold Sentinel.
Step 2
Sample
Collect the three required samples following the current protocol.
Step 3
Submit
Return all three samples together using the prepaid label.
Step 4
Combine and review
Receive one custom laboratory-supported report for assignment review.
Estimated delivery of the completed laboratory-supported report is within 72 hours after all three assignment samples are received by the laboratory.

- Pass the 50-question final examination with a score of at least 80 percent
- Complete one documented HVAC Mold Sentinel field assignment
- Collect and submit the three required barcoded samples using the provided return label
- Receive approval of the field assignment and combined custom report
The certificate, Certified Inspector badge, and Mold Sentinel Certified Inspector hat are issued only after the participant completes all 10 modules, passes the final examination, and receives approval of the field assignment.
Certification requirements do not replace applicable state or local licensing requirements.

They are not a state license and do not authorize regulated mold inspection, remediation, laboratory, or other professional services where licensing or additional qualifications are required. Participants are responsible for following applicable laws, regulations, licensing rules, ethical obligations, and employer requirements.
The IAQH HVAC Mold Inspection Certification is an educational credential developed and issued by Indoor Environmental Systems, Inc. It is not accredited or approved by a national certifying body. Continuing-education approval is in development and may be described publicly only when formally obtained and documented.
